Nicole (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing trauma-informed therapy to adults in Illinois. Her experience working in a variety of social work roles has shaped her belief that it is a privilege to be invited by someone to be a part of their mental wellness journey as their therapist. Nicole provides individual therapy to adults across the lifespan. 

Nicole welcomes all big feelings, uncertainty, urgency, creativity, and movement into the therapy space. You can expect Nicole to feel grounded and nonjudgmental, to prioritize trust and safety, and a bit of humor and directness as well. She specializes in working with clients seeking to recover from trauma and abuse, navigating systemic oppression and complex relationship dynamics, identity exploration, a variety of anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. 

Nicole also focuses on treating chronic stress and burnout, coping with chronic illness, strengthening the mind-body connection, and increasing self-esteem and self-compassion. Nicole uses a variety of therapeutic modalities and approaches during sessions, with a creative and unique approach tailored to client’s needs. She values anti-racism, anti-oppressive practices, cultural humility and responsiveness, and queer-affirming principles.

Approach

  • Integrative approach, meaning a combination of different approaches and tools are used to tailor treatment to your unique needs.

  • Modalities include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Therapy, Phase-oriented Trauma Treatment, and Humanistic/Person-Centered Therapy.

  • Nicole's approach is informed by her values, these include: anti-racism, anti-oppressive practices, cultural humility and responsiveness, trauma-informed practice, and queer-affirming principles.

  • A warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental approach will be consistent. With permission, Nicole will be direct and offer perspective to help you move forward or challenge patterns that might be holding you back. 

  • Flexible pacing for sessions with optional, expressive tools we can bring into sessions, like humor, play, and art-making.

Education and Experience

Nicole is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an AM in Social Service Administration (MSW equivalent degree) from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work.
