As a therapist certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Maia also draws on knowledge from Attachment Theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adlerian to provide individualized care to each of her clients. She emphasizes creating a non-judgemental space and uses a warm, gentle approach to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings. As a provider, Maia aligns with the principles of Health At Every Size (HAES) and multiculturally competent counseling in order to provide accessible care to people of all different intersections, identities, and bodies.
