Lakeview

Maia is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who has experience working with individuals and couples. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago, IL.

Maia has experience working in both private practice and higher education mental health settings. She works with individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, and communication issues, and specializes her practice in early life transitions and unprocessed trauma. Maia understands the unique set of struggles that come with working in a helping profession and has extensive experience working with educators, caretakers, and healers. She is extremely passionate about creating a space for people who spend much of their time and energy caring for others.

Maia implements principles and tools from a variety of theories including psychodynamic, client-centered, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and mindfulness practices in order to meet the needs of each client. She believes in providing a space of radical non-judgement that celebrates each part of her clients identity and their intersections. She works from a trauma-informed lens in order to examine how life experiences shape an individual’s reality and core relationships. Maia uses a warm and gentle, but informative approach to invite her clients to explore their own mind from a new perspective by asking thoughtful questions and drawing attention to unrecognized patterns.
