Corinne Ferguson, LCSW

Lakeview

Corinne, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), has extensive experience supporting individuals, couples and families who are confronted by life circumstances causing uncertainty in the future and loss of control. She takes an individualized, client-centered approach to help her clients identify internal desires, set goals and reach fulfillment while gaining a sense of empowerment and relief of internal tensions along the way. She enjoys supporting individuals seeking to understand childhood trauma, family of origin exploration, identity struggles and discovery and those carrying the burden of generalized anxiety which impair the capacity to experience joy within their day-to-day lives to the fullest.

Corinne brings over 7-years of experience working with clients struggling with fertility challenges and those considering adoption as a possible way to grow their family. She is very familiar with the emotional roller coaster that accompanies the pursuit of adoption, fertility intervention and surrogacy and understands the nuances involved with societal pressures and opinions that create feelings of guilt, shame and sometimes anger or resentment. Corinne partners with her clients by walking beside them throughout their journey as they create and discover their own path that’s right for them.

As a transracial adoptee herself, Corinne is passionate about and deeply values the opportunity to support individuals as they discover the uncomfortable challenges that arise when exploring race, culture, loss and identity. Having supported countless families throughout their transracial and adoptive parenting journeys Corinne feels privileged to have the opportunity to support individuals navigating this ever-evolving journey.

She believes that everyone’s path is unique and encourages her clients to explore their desires, fears and concerns while providing a safe and judgment-free space to develop insight and tools that lead to a place of empowerment and peace.

Prior to beginning her therapy practice Corinne served as a legal advocate for victims of wrongful convictions and provided support and guidance to those impacted by the criminal justice system which continues to be a passion of hers. When she’s not supporting clients Corinne enjoys being active in the Latin Dance community and embracing the therapeutic benefits of Salsa, Bachata and other rhythmic partnered-dances.
