We are each made in the image of God, birthed out of love, and thus created to experience loving and fulfilling relationships. Sadly, though, many of our relationships have been deeply impacted by rejection, abuse, fear and heartache. But, the good news is that even though many of us feel stuck and overwhelmed, God desires for us to grow and experience healing, freedom and reconciliation to Himself and to each other.
Therapy Orientation
I primarily work from a relational model of therapy and use existential and psychodynamic approaches, as well as cognitive behavior approaches as needed. I also use mindfulness techniques as a way to help clients live in and enjoy the present moment.
My approach is holistic as I believe that every aspect of a person-including past experiences, relationships, emotions, biological/physical reactions and nutrition-needs attention. Depending on the needs and desires of each individual I can refer clients to excellent psychiatrists, nutritionists and massage therapists.
My areas of focus include:
• relationship issues
• anxiety
• depression
• chronic pain and illness
• grief/loss
• substance abuse
• isolation/loneliness
• vocation and career
• spirituality issues
Through our meetings together possible benefits include:
• freedom to discover and appreciate your uniqueness and calling
• greater understanding of why you face the same struggles over and over
• improved communication skills
• new and healthier ways of interacting with others
• reduced anxiety
• deeper connection in your relationships
• strengthened faith and spirituality
